Happy Holidays! This time of year finds many of us heading out of town to visit family or just get away. Here are a few Rockstar Remedy travel tips to keep the travel healthy and enjoyable. No need to sabotage all your great habits just because you are on the road or at the airport. We want to save our 10% cheating time for the festivities. And we want to have a peaceful feeling when we arrive. After all this is supposed to be fun…

Healthy road snacks at the gas station

  • Cheese sticks
  • Fresh fruit
  • Glass-bottled water
  • Granola bars
  • Greek or plain yogurt
  • Honest Ice Teas
  • Turkey jerky
  • Nuts and dried fruit

Healthy snacks at the airport

  • Cheese and fruit plates
  • Smoothies
  • Hummus and veggie plates
  • Nuts and dried fruits
  • Sandwich wraps
  • Yogurt and granola cups

Airplane travel checklist

  • Pack snacks in advance
  • Bring stainless steel water bottles
  • Pack light to avoid back injury
  • Carry on using backpacks
  • Get a space with more leg room
  • Place a small pillow in the small of your back
  • Use a u-shaped pillow for neck support
  • Bring an eye cover for better sleep
  • Use this time to meditate, read or catch up on sleep
  • Hydrate with lots of water before, during and after flight

Instead of thinking of where else you could be when you are driving, in taxis, waiting for the planes, or enduring major delays… stay in the moment. Be kind to the person behind the airline ticket counter. After all, they don’t control the weather.

Use this time to meditate, catch up on reading, send e-mails or make calls to friends and loved ones. You’re being given the gift of personal time so be in the moment and use it to your advantage rather than worrying about when you’re going to get “there.” The adventure is now!
